Who said British comics never did superheroes or supervillains? The 1960s in particular saw the creation of quite the pantheon - among them Lion’s Robot Archie, and a cast of returning nemeses, including The Sludge.

Aside from his looks, Sludgie’s great powers included the ability to bring to control anything he touched. He was no match for Archie’s intellect and mechanical strength though.

Ted Kearon was the regular Robot Archie artist but I’m afraid I can’t say for certain who drew either this week’s strip or the cover.
